We had a nice time in Eugene but didn't get to see all the people we wanted to see. It was miserable weather most of the time and Judy was pretty tired and hurting more than usual so she needed to take it easy.
We stocked up on supplies and got ready to leave the area on our JOURNEY that we hope is finally happening NOW!
We had to spend the night at the RV dealer on Monday night; they had put on a new freezer door on one side of the freezer before we went to Florence and it frosted up worse than the old one. They adjusted the door and we stayed overnight just to make sure it was going to take care of the problem. So far, it seems fine now.
We left today and drove south on I-5 which is the major freeway in Oregon. We turned west at Roseburg and drove over to the coast. The road was a "primary" road and fine until we got about 12 miles from Bandon, OR and then OH MY GOSH....it went down to a "secondary" road and was so scary! It was VERY narrow and in places, didn't even have a guard rail, no fog lines, no side to the road at all.....JUST the narrow lane and then a drop-off of about 8 feet. If you made it though the trees on the bank, instead of pasture land, you would drive into a "lake" made from the rain swollen river........the manager here told me they expect to close the road tomorrow due to flooding. It's not a road we have to travel on again, thankfully.
I am getting a cold sore on my lip tonight which is a sign of my stress today. UGH.......
Now for some random photos from the last week.
Tammy and Brandon took us to an excellent dinner at P. F. Chang's for an early birthday celebration. (My birthday isn't until April but we will be long gone by then RVing across America)
