In the beginning.....

Monday ~ July 9, 2011

I was very naive about how long it would take us to get ready to RV full-time. I was so glad we had two months to get everything done because it took us that long! There were so many things that came up that I had never thought about. I made more trips to stores to buy things and then take them back because they weren't what we needed than I want to think about. Too many clerks knew me by name; that's NEVER a good thing!

We stayed in the RV  park just north of Eugene, OR for three weeks before we left to make sure everything was in working order.  A few minor tweaks to the RV and it was ready to go.

Two of our Chihuahuas, Bailey and Rudy, adjusted well to the change but poor Lucy, who is half Chihuahua and half Italian Greyhound was a quivering mess....between the road noise next to the RV park and bugs or flies INSIDE the RV, she was freaking out constantly.  Our vet put her on doggy Prozac (really.....Prozac!) and she seems to be doing better now........insects inside the house have always freaked her out but not outside....go figure......I sometimes wonder just how dogs pick up their various fears........It would be nice if she could talk.....

We bought a 2010 Ford F350 diesel pick-up last fall and then got a 2011 Keystone Cougar High Country RV this spring so we were anxious to get going on the next phase of our lives together.

It took a village of family and friends to help us get everything together to make this dream a reality for us and to all our you, our heart-felt THANKS!!!!!
